If you’re considering Silver’s, do yourself a favor and READ THIS POST. These are relatively new and well worth every penny! This post will give you a little insight on what makes these a standout, as well as a detailed look at how you can customize your coils with standard and optional features. If you’ve found yourself here you’re about to learn WHY these coils are worth the talk.

Silver’s was started back in 1999 by a racer tired of the lack of quality suspension on the market. Since then Silver’s has grown into a global suspension manufacturer focused on top quality performance suspension with a very affordable price. They understand your dollars are hard-earned, so they have set out to get you the best performance for your dollar. Every part of Silver’s coilovers are manufactured in their 36,000sqft state of the art facility. Their kits are hand assembled and every single shock is put on the dyno to ensure it is within the 5% variation. This is much lower than most manufacturers and there is no spot checking.

Below this point the post is broken down into the NEOMAX Coilover “Basic Features” and “Custom & Optional Upgrade” details are found at the bottom.

MAIN FEATURES

Damping Adjustment – Silver’s NEOMAX Kits feature 24-way damping adjustment that combines both rebound and compression in one adjuster for simplicity and ease of use. This allows you to fine tune the vehicle to handle to your liking or to meet the relevant conditions.

Ride Height Adjustment – Ride height is determined by an adjustable bottom mount rather than a spring platform, this allows you to retain full damper travel regardless of the ride height. The mount can be wound up and down the damper body to give a full range of adjustment from near standard ride height down to a 3″ drop and lower (application dependent). For those looking to achieve Super Low drop rates it’s important to know that each application has a slightly different MAX drop height. There is a “Super Low” option explained more in the custom options below.

Aluminum Lower Brackets – T6 6061 Aluminum lower mounts are used on multi-link suspension setups. These are CAD designed to ensure OEM fitment and are lighter than steel components which also help reduce un-sprung weight.

Camber Adjustment Plates – Silver’s camber plates are made from T6 6061 Aluminum and are protected by an anodized finish. They come standard on the front of any McPherson-style strut application and are designed to offer up to 3 degree’s of camber adjustment at any ride height to dial in your alignment. SIlver’s pillowball mounts are comprised of two main parts: A SUJ2 Steel bearing, and a Chromoly Steel 2 piece case. Pillowball mounts provide bind free operation and precise feedback to the driver.

KOYO Roller Bearing – Because the spring twists as it compresses it is very important to minimize tension between the spring and its seats. If this tension is not relieved then spring binding can occur leading to the spring rate effectively altering slightly as the spring compresses and extends. The tension generated can lead to rapid deterioration of the spring perches and in extreme cases can cause the spring platform and locking collars to loosen. This can lead to the platform and locking collars ‘walking’ down the damper resulting in uneven ride height and danger of the spring dislocating under full damper extension.

The friction between spring and seats also has an effect on steering effort as the springs are physically turned with the wheels. This introduces additional unnecessary friction into the steering system, which can have a detrimental effect on the vehicles handling characteristics.

The KOYO roller bearing is mounted above the spring just under the upper mount. By vastly reducing tension between the spring and its seats the coils avoid the above problems thus improving the efficiency of the steering system and allowing the spring and damper to work as designed.

Unique Locking Collars – Silver’s locking collars have a specific unique design compared to the other brands on the market. They perform the same as any other locking collar, though with the lower spring perch having dimples instead of slots you do not have to worry about the top spanner wrench slipping and sliding up or down the perch when making necessary adjustments. This makes adjusting the preload much less of a balancing act, leading to quicker and easier installation.

Linear Piston Design – Silver’s use a 44mm Linear type piston in our shocks. This style piston gives both excellent track benefits as well as maintains ride quality. Every single shock is hand assembled, and dyno tested to insure dampening and compression valving is within 5% variation from side to side. There is no random inspection or tests, every single shock is dyno tested. In the event the shock fails, the internals are discarded and it goes back to the assembly room.

LARGE HARDENED STEEL SHAFTS

Silver’s uses the largest diameter necessary hardened steel with chrome plating for our piston shafts. With extensive research and development they have the perfect material and diameter needed to have the proper strength necessary to retain lateral rigidity and not bend or bind under heavy loads, which leads to pre-mature wear and lowering piston travel. Making it the perfect combination of strength and weight savings.

Corrosion Protection – Silver’s shock bodies are made from ultra high strength JIS G3445-STKM13C(DIN2393-ST44-2) carbon steel and are electroless nickel plated for resistance to corrosion and fatigue in harsh climates.

Springs – Silver’s uses Cold-bent springs manufactured from high strength SAE9254 steel. The springs are compression tested through over 500,000 cycles with less then 5% deformation.

CUSTOMIZE / OPTIONAL UPGRADES

Super Low – Standard Silver’s Super Low Kits offer between 20-60MM drop(application dependent). Silver’s Super Low option is a NO CHARGE build option that uses a shorter shock and spring combo to achieve a lower ride height with out compromising ride quality. This option is best suited for users looking for the most aggressive drop rate.

Spring Rates & Valving – Each application includes Silver’s recommended spring rates for a great balance of ride quality and performance, and is perfect for street driving/occasional track duty. Custom springs are available between 4k and 20k Custom rates are perfect for those looking to tailor their vehicles ride to nearly any purpose (race/drift/stance etc.)

Swift Spring Upgrade – These are linear-rate springs designed for street or competition. Swift’s R & D team created a material called H5S.TW. This advanced alloy is stronger then regular silicone chrome material. Swift made the spring wire thinner, and could wind the springs with fewer coils, which greatly decreased weight while dramatically increasing available stroke. Swift spring rates are available between 4k and 34k and the setup will be valved appropriately.

Damper Adjuster Extenders – These are to help save the time and trouble of removing the interior of your car to change the damper on your rear coilovers. The extenders attach to the adjuster knob on top of your coilover for easy and quick adjustments.

All-Weather covers – Silver’s Coilover Covers are a must have for vehicles that see Extreme Weather Conditions or get driven on dirt roads more often then not. Our coilover covers offer an added layer of resistance keeping dirt, mud, grime, snow, harsh road salts / spray’s, and rocks from getting to the shock shafts or seals and the threads themselves. This added layer of protection helps prevent damage like shaft pitting & cut seals that require you to have your shocks rebuilt prematurely as well as help keep the locking collars and threads clean so you won’t have to worry about any seizing issues. Silver’s coilover covers were designed to have a zipper on the back instead of Velcro which can become loose and allow for gaps in the seal of the cover. The zipper allows for the covers to be installed in seconds securely and confidently. Our Coilover Covers are made of Neoprene so they have a nice form fit with elastic banded ends to give you the most protection possible.

***Kit Includes: (Qty 2) Silver’s 325mm Coilover Covers***
