WRX/STi Rear Fog Lights : Buyers Guide

U.S. market WRX & STi’s have never included a factory rear fog light. However their JDM counterparts since 2011 have. Luckily, the USDM 11-14 models & 15+ include an area in the back of the vehicle to make the addition of the rear fog light very simple. Of course the OE JDM rear fog light is a nice option but this post takes a closer look into “F1 Style” & the “Multifunction” Rear Fog Lights. Both are full LED, available in a handful of different color ways & will increase visibility at night.

“F1 Style” : These can be wired just as a rear fog/4th brake light however most will want to utilize the optional wire for the F1 brake flashing feature. F1 flashing will engage when braking offering a pretty unique look and added safety factor. Wiring kit, mounting bracket, & hardware are included for quick install. “Multifunction Style” : These also give the standard functionality of a rear fog/4th brake light but w/ the addition of an LED reverse light. Also, these are set up a dual intensity light which means when you engage the brake the rear fog light will immediately illuminate brighter. Though these links show product pages for the 11-14 & 2015+ please note that any of these fog lights can still be used for other applications as well. Mounting location would need to be fabricated although wiring would easily be able to be hooked in with your brake lights.
